At El Paso Electric, our more than 1,100 team members are encouraged to serve the community we all call ‘home’ in a way unique to them. This initiative is captured by our EPE program called VOLTS: Volunteers On Location To Serve, where EPE team members donate their time, treasure, and talent to our region. Last year, EPE team members went above and beyond by volunteering nearly 11,300 hours. This year, our goal is set on surpassing that number and getting our friends, family, and YOU involved.

VOLTS Request

This year, the EPE VOLTS joined our nonprofit Community Partners, the Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest and the Frontera Land Alliance, for two unique volunteer experiences, the Girl Scouts Get Outdoors event and the Knapp Land Trail Building. Our VOLTS offered Girl Scout troops a glimpse into the process EPE completes when growing our renewable energy portfolio. The young girls also learned to identify indigenous and native species when considering a site for a solar facility in our region. To get our community outdoors, our VOLTS offered some TLC to a trail on Knapp Land, which is a preserve area of more than 350 acres on the westside of the Franklin Mountains.
