Cheryl Mele
Vice President, Chief Technology Officer
Cheryl Mele is the Chief Technology Officer at El Paso Electric, leading the enterprise technology transformation to enhance business operations and customer service. Her team, which includes infrastructure, operations applications, enterprise architecture, business applications, data analytics, and cybersecurity, collaborates across the utility to develop digital, data, and technology strategies supporting enterprise objectives. Previously, Cheryl served as Vice President of Customer and Employee Services at El Paso Electric and held roles at Austin Energy as Deputy General Manager and Chief Operating Officer, and at ERCOT as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Office
She currently is a member of the boards of The United Way of El Paso County, The Better Business Bureau Paso Del Norte, the Association of Women in Energy and TEPRI where she is the outgoing board chair.
Cheryl has a BS in mechanical engineering from Union College in Schenectady, New York, is a registered professional engineer, and completed the utility executive program at the University of Idaho.
