Texas Customers to See Credit on Bills Soon

EL PASO, Texas (October 22, 2024) – All Texas El Paso Electric (EPE) customers will receive a credit on their bills this November and December. The average residential customer will receive a credit of approximately $3.00, an estimated savings of 3.75%. The refund will be reflected on the fuel charge line item on customer bills.

The fuel factor is designed to recover the cost of the fuel used to generate electricity, a cost EPE incurs to generate electricity for its customers. EPE does not earn a profit on fuel costs.

Texas customer refunds will vary based on the rate service they are currently on. EPE adjusts fuel factors periodically to more accurately reflect the current and forecasted cost of fuel. In New Mexico, fuel is adjusted monthly.
