James Schichtl is responsible for the oversight and direction of EPE's Economic & Rate Research, Economic Forecasting, Regulatory Case Management, Market Development and Resource Strategy, and Energy Efficiency groups. His Regulatory responsibilities include cost of service analysis, revenue requirement, and rate development. Jim oversees regulatory filings with the Texas Public Utility Commission, New Mexico Public Regulation Commission, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Prior to joining El Paso Electric in 2012, Jim served as a regulatory analyst and manager in several regulatory functions with Southern California Edison Company for 18 years.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Degree from the University of Texas at El Paso, where he also studied economics. Throughout his career at EPE, he has attended and presented material for numerous seminars and workshops related to cost of service, rate and program design, and regulation. Jim is a native of El Paso.
