El Paso councilmember accused of assault against a family member

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14) — An El Paso city representative was arrested by police.

Jail records show Sam Morgan, 53, was arrested Friday.

He was charged with assault causing bodily injury (family violence).

El Paso police were called out to his home following a family violence call.

Their investigation determined Morgan assaulted his wife.

His bail was set at $3,000. Records show he remains in custody at the El Paso County Detention Center in downtown El Paso.

Morgan represents northeast El Paso.
