Las Cruces Sun News: El Paso Electric to celebrate Lineworker Appreciation Day
EL PASO - El Paso Electric is celebrating National Lineworker Appreciation Day on July, 10, 2018, in partnership with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 960.
Lineworkers perform challenging tasks daily, focusing on the safety of our communities and ensuring that we have consistent and reliable power throughout our region, an El Paso Electric news release stated. They are often the first responders in inclement weather and emergency situations, and work to maintain the electric grid working efficiently.
This year, the day will be recognized by Doña Ana County through a proclamation at the Doña Ana Board of County Commissioners regular meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 10 at the county government building, 845 N. Motel Blvd. Additional proclamations will include the city of Las Cruces and the city of El Paso.
Additionally, EPE will be releasing a website open to community members, where they can leave messages of appreciation for the lineworkers in our region. To visit the page and leave a comment, visit epelectric.com.
