El Paso Electric Presents No Coal For Christmas Toy Drive at WinterFest

EL PASO, TEXASWinterFest, presented by The Hospitals of Providence and Providence Children’s Hospital, joins forces with El Paso Electric (EPE) to celebrate the season of giving with the “No Coal for Christmas” Toy Drive benefitting the Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home.

Since 2016,  EPE selects a local non-profit that serves our community’s vulnerable youth and their families to ensure everyone, no matter their circumstances, has a chance to celebrate Christmas.

WinterFest patronsare encouraged to donate a new toy to receive a FREE (1) 50-minute ice skating session from December 2-8 at the WinterFest ice skating rink in Downtown Arts Festival Plaza (1 Arts Festival Plaza, 79901). Toys should be dropped off at the Skate Station near the skating rink. Once donation is complete, patrons will receive (1) 50-minute skate session to be redeemed during sessions with availability. Rink hours can be found at www.epwinterfest.com.

As a supporter of Winterfest since its inception in 2016, EPE’s“No Coal For Christmas” Toy Drive celebrates the company’s major 2016 milestone to completely remove coal from its energy production portfolio; one of the first electric utilities in Texas to do so making  EPE a leader in clean energy production.

This innovative move is a community celebration, where WinterFest offers a unique fit to celebrate this accomplishment during the “season of giving.”

“As a local company with employees that live and work in the communities we serve, being a good corporate citizen has always been a priority at El Paso Electric,” shares El Paso Electric Vice President Eddie Gutierrez. “We are always looking for ways to help address the growing needs in our community and by creating the ‘No Coal For Christmas Toy Drive’ we will be able to provide toys to a local non-profit this Holiday season.

This year, El Paso Electric has chosen Lee & Buelah Moor Children’s Home to receive donations. The Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home supports El Paso children and families who are experiencing difficulty in their lives—for whatever reason—by providing a nurturing, positive environment and teaching self-respect, respect for others, and the importance of taking responsibility for one’s own decisions and actions.

“As the only home in El Paso dedicated to the children in need, we were extremely honored to have been selected by El Paso Electric for the annual toy drive,” states Lee & Buelah Moor Children’s Home CEO Reneé E. Tanner. “We know this initiative will brighten the lives of our young ones that are not always easy during the Christmas time.”
